The Québec Government Office in New York Joins MAPLE Business Council

Together with MAPLE New York Executive Director, John Costanzo, it is with great pleasure that we announce that the Québec Government Office in New York is our newest organization member.

Founded in 1940, Québec Government Office in New York is the province's oldest foreign office and main representation in the U.S. Serving the Mid-Atlantic region, it promotes the interests of Quebec in the areas of trade, investment, research and innovation, education and culture.

Representing the Quebec Government Office in New York in MAPLE Business Council are:

From Delegate General, Catherine Loubier:

"Quebecers and Americans share a long history grounded in common values, ideals and interests. Since the Great War, we have been making things together including with our low carbon aluminum and steel. We create jobs and we build regional prosperity together. Quebec exports US$70 billion to the world, of which 70% goes south of the border. New York State is the province's biggest customer, taking in US$5.5 billion in exports. Avoiding trade barriers will always be a win-win proposition.

Looking ahead, we now have an unprecedented opportunity to decarbonize our economies together. Quebec can help green the power grid in the Northeast with exports of clean hydroelectricity and with wind, solar and green hydrogen.

We can accelerate the carbon neutrality of our economies with electrification and cleantech innovations. Quebec also holds abundant and rare strategic minerals at the heart of the green revolution. Let us continue to build things together.

We are looking forward to working with you."
