We are looking forward to welcoming everyone back for more virtual networking, our quarterly report on the growth and work of our community, a warm welcome to our new members, and expert speakers on cross-border topics of interest at our Southern California Summer Reception.

Our featured speakers will be global payment and risk management solutions provider, AFEX, and quality engineering company, QA Consultants - both leaders in their fields across North America.

Associated Foreign Exchange (AFEX)

Richard Flaglor, Regional Sales Director, West - North America., Victoria B.C.

Richard Flaglor will be discussing the meteoric rise of the Canadian dollar across the major G8 currencies, as well as the parallel weakening of the USD over the last 12 months. The importance of budget planning in relation to the volatile nature of these currency pairs, and how risk management mitigation can be achieved with a diversified FX strategy will also be shared. Richard will also discuss the upcoming acquisition of AFEX by Fleetcor Technologies and what this means to AFEX’s offering going forward.

QA Consultants

Bill Klages, VP Head of U.S. Western Region, Los Angeles, CA

Gabriella (Gabby) Szasz, Senior Partner, New York

Bill Klages will be discussing QA Consultants’ focus on quality for Emerging Technologies featuring their solution for accelerating automated testing for Cognitive Systems that drive Robots and Autonomous Vehicles.  QAC has developed a proprietary testing solution called “xCog” that automates and executes test cases for the thousands of permutations of decisions that AI software makes to operate robots or autonomous vehicles.

As part of QA Consultants’ leadership role in bringing DEI initiatives to the technology function,  Gabby Szasz will discuss how traditional DEI initiatives (mainly through HR) have failed or underperformed.  Their POV is that diversity is best introduced and sustained as part of a digital transformation or other technology change event.  Research is proving that diversity in creative and engineering teams provides for the best products and outcomes by addressing the needs of a diverse user base or customer audience.

Be sure to save the date so you can ensure that you will be part of our next celebration of our Canada-U.S. community in Southern California which falls on our 6th anniversary month! And, of course, as this is a virtual event, members, partners and guests from across Canada and the United States will be welcome.
