Together with MAPLE British Columbia Executive Director Jason Tse, it is our pleasure to welcome Lo'Ai Shatara, Senior Manager, U.S. Business Tax at Rise CPA in Coquitlam, BC as our newest Executive Member.
He immigrated to Canada in 2006 and lived in Toronto and Halifax before moving to British Columbia in 2022. Having completed his degree in Accounting from Saint Mary's University, he started his career at a Big 4 accounting firm in 2013 on the International Tax and Transactions Services team focused on US tax compliance for corporations and partnerships where he received multiple awards of excellence. He has also worked as the in-house US tax manager for a financial services company in Toronto.
Lo'Ai has extensive experience in income tax compliance for small to large businesses. As a Senior Manager of the U.S. business tax practice at Rise CPA, his specialties include preparing U.S. tax returns for corporations and partnerships.
