Dorsey's lead representative within our MAPLE community is Sarah Robertson, a partner of the firm with over twenty years’ experience helping clients protect, enforce and exploit their intellectual property assets, with particular depth in the creative industries, digital media and consumer product sectors.  

She is the head of Dorsey & Whitney’s New York Trademark Group and co-chairs the firm’s Creative Industries Industry Group.  She handles a wide scope of corporate and commercial agreements and transactions involving intellectual property.  She also has extensive experience on Canadian cross-border issues and helps Canadian businesses enter the U.S. market.  She handles sales, marketing and distribution issues, as well as complex licensing matters, and represents clients in disputes involving intellectual property.    

Sarah started her legal practice in Toronto, Canada and is currently qualified as an Ontario Foreign Legal Consultant.  She is a member of the Board of Directors of the Council for Canadian American Relations (CCAR), which conducts programs and activities that support arts and cultural institutions functioning in and between the two countries.  She is also past President of the Canadian American Bar Association.
